Live Western Bid rates in your Shopify store checkout: connect the store, pick shipping methods and a markup — customers will see up-to-date shipping rates with no manual tables.
The Calculator shows live Western Bid shipping rates right in your Shopify store checkout. You connect the store once, choose shipping methods and your markup — buyers see up-to-date prices, and you no longer maintain rate tables by hand. Prices update automatically every night.
Yes. The Calculator works only with its own separate shipping profile "WB · …" and touches nothing else: your products, settings and existing rates stay as they were. It only needs access to read products and manage shipping rates, and you can revoke that access at any time right in Shopify.
The Calculator is free. Western Bid earns on the shipping itself, not on the tool.
Any plan, including Basic. The Calculator works on all Shopify plans.
Not yet — the Calculator works only with Shopify stores. If you are on another platform, write to us at sales@westernbid.com: we track platform demand in our plans.
You can connect several Shopify stores to one Western Bid account. In the portal you simply switch between stores; each has its own settings.
No. You name the shipping methods yourself (for example, "Standard Shipping", "Express Shipping") — the buyer sees only those names and the price.
Always in English — no matter which language you use in the portal. This keeps checkout looking professional for international buyers.
No. Prices are loaded into Shopify settings in advance, at night. Nothing is computed at checkout time — it runs at normal Shopify speed.
No. Your previous settings (for example, Ukrposhta or Nova Poshta) physically remain in the store. Products you link to the Calculator will show buyers Western Bid prices; unlinked products keep selling with your old shipping as before.
Three things: owner access to the Shopify admin, an accurate weight in every product card (without a weight the product will not get a shipping price), and your store's real package weight in Settings → Shipping → Packages.
About 30 minutes: connecting the store (~10 minutes, done once), then settings, choosing shipping methods and publishing. The portal has a step-by-step guide with pictures and video.
No. Until you press "Publish" at the last step, nothing changes in the store at all — all settings live only in the portal. And before publishing, the system automatically saves a copy of your previous rates, so everything is reversible.
Of course. Create a ticket with Western Bid support — a team member will walk through the connection with you, up to setting it up "for you" via screen sharing.
Yes. These are two shipping origins in the portal, each with its own methods and prices, and you link products to the origin you need.
Prices come from live Western Bid rates and update every night. The final shipping cost is determined when the shipment is processed by Western Bid and may differ — you set your own markup as a safety margin. The Calculator is in beta: if you notice a bug, write to us at sales@westernbid.com.
The Western Bid shipping rate + your cost of getting the parcel to the WB warehouse (if you set it) + your markup. You configure all of this yourself and see the result in a preview before publishing.
Three reasons. First: the Calculator price already includes your markup and your delivery to the warehouse. Second: Shopify adds the store package weight to the cart weight — the weight may land one tier higher. Third: the Calculator computes prices for each country by zones (for example, the US is split into several zones), while the dashboard calculates exactly for the specific address — so for an individual address a small difference is possible, usually upward. This is a deliberate safety margin: the buyer will not pay less than the shipping actually costs.
Yes, set it up once — after that, prices update automatically every night from current Western Bid rates. If you change your settings (markup, methods), the portal will ask you to publish again.
The Calculator already knows this: each shipping method has a built-in rule — actual weight, volumetric, or "whichever is greater". Your volume coefficient applies only where the carrier really charges by volume.
Set the volume coefficient to 1 — all prices will be calculated by actual weight.
Everything is reversible. Before any change to your rates, the system automatically saves a copy of them. When disconnecting, you can simply remove Western Bid prices — products will return to the main Shopify shipping profile and your previous shipping will work again — or additionally restore your previous rates from the saved copy. One caveat: if some products were in a separate shipping profile before connecting, you will need to link them back there manually in Shopify.
Yes. You choose which products to link to the Calculator. Unlinked products keep selling with your previous shipping settings as before.
No, the Calculator works only with Western Bid shipping methods. But you can keep your own methods in parallel in Shopify settings for products not linked to the Calculator.
Set the weight in the product card and link the product to an origin in the portal — shipping prices will start working for it after the next publish. Nothing needs to be reconfigured.
Products linked to the Calculator get shipping only to the countries on your list — buyers from other countries will not see shipping for those products. If you need destinations we don't cover yet, write to sales@westernbid.com — the country list keeps growing. Products you ship only by your own methods — simply don't link them to the Calculator.
Most likely that country is not part of an active Shopify market. Markets are a separate Shopify setting: a country must be both on your list in the calculator AND in an active market (Shopify admin → Settings → Markets). The portal will warn you about this at the publish step.
Most often: some product in the cart has no weight set, or the total cart weight exceeds the limit of the selected shipping methods, or the buyer's country is not on your list. If you can't find the cause — write to us and we'll figure it out together.
